For show and tell this week, I thought I'd share some of my pink depression glass collection.
I started collecting pink depression glass when my parents returned home from a vacation in 1996 bringing with them a pair of tea cups and saucers as my souvenir. Over the years I have picked up different pieces here and there. My favorite patterns are Old Colony, Old Cafe', Manhattan, Rosemary, Homespun, and Diana just to name a few. 
Some of my collection is displayed in our dining room on a bookshelf that I modified and hung on the wall. I have a few pieces displayed in our living room in one of my favorite cabinets using an old window as the door.

I have quite a few pieces that aren't displayed only because I use them often. I love setting my table with these pieces. Someday I'd love to have enough place settings to set my entire table with pink depression glass. Hmm....in my dreams....
I love depression glass. I have a few pieces in the pink, but mostly the green.

The 2nd photo....the big, very large, round pink plate? ---is that like a cake plate? Wow!!!! All so so pretty. A fabulous collection.

I love your blogsite - it is SO pretty. In Britain we didn't have the depression glass, but in the late 20s/early 20s they sold glass dressing table sets in a particular colour pink which is reminiscent of your collection. It's good to hear your pieces are still being used and loved.

I absolutely LOVE the pink Depression glass! It's always so expensive when I happen upon it at the Antique Store.f I ever see some at a great bargain, I intend to buy it! I LOVE the way you've displayed it, very creative!

Beautiful; I love it. I have some depression glass wine glasses that are two toned---the pink and green--those are some of my favorites.

Your display looks very pretty! Although I don't collect depression glass, it is still pretty to look at! I have a few pieces stored away, some are pink and some are green. When I get some things together I will send them to you! I believe you will love them!

oooooh what a pretty display. My Sister has my Grandmother's pink depression and she would also love to fill her table with it all. They're actually coming down in price now so buy while you can! Thanks for stopping by my posting...I think I could still get "en pointe" although I might not be able to travel very far once I'm up there! LOL!

Beautiful! I love your cabinet with the window front. I have several pieces of pink depression glass. I bought it back before it became expensive. I love it mostly because it's pink I think.

Just beautiful! My mom has a large collection of all colors of depression glass, pink, green and amber. She used to set the Thanksgiving table with it, and it was gorgeous. So keep on collecting. I can just imagine it done all in the pink!

I love the pink depression glass. So far I've not collected any because I wanted to get a little more familiar with the different patterns and maybe just collect some specific ones. Your's is so pretty!
ReplyDeleteAs for the ruffle maker attachment in your Saturday post, oh my what my mom wouldn't have given to have that on her machine when I was growing up! She taught me how to pull basting threads through a piece of material to ruffle it. Thanks for sharing!
