Lori's Doll Party Challenge

Whoohoo! Today's the day for Lori's Doll Party. Thanks so much for hosting, Lori!
***********
First off, I have to say, I don't really collect dolls. At least I didn't think I did, until I went around the house taking pictures of the different dolls we have living here. Now, I guess I better say I have a little collection...
***********
A few weeks ago, my mom gave me (well, actually I asked and then took) the taller bisque doll from her collection. I had the smaller girl, who was lonely and needed a friend. Aren't they so cute together? I know, they need clothes but I think they're pretty cute as they are too!
Bisque dolls are my favorite. I even love these little Japan bisque kids with their chippy paint and all.China head dolls are another doll I really like. The black haired one came from my Grandma N. Blonde china heads are more rare, so I'm told. I bought my blonde lady a couple summers ago at an auction. I think she is so beautiful! Oh, and she proudly wears my Grandma L's cameo.
I love this German half doll. I bought her at an estate sale for $5! I thought she was so pretty with her rosy cheeks, yellow bonnet and pink roses. I didn't know much about half dolls at the time but quickly learned when I got home. Boy, I kick myself now for not buying ALL the half dolls at that estate sale... I put together this Armand Marseille 390. A few years ago I won just the shoulder head on ebay and paid practically nothing. Her face was so sweet and she also had her original wig! Even though she didn't have a body, she needed a home. Last spring I went to a local doll show and found an AM kid leather body. I'm so happy she is now complete!
This little wind up crawling baby is made of celluloid. He was a gift I received in a trade. Don't you just love his flirty eyes!?
Ok, so I'm not really fan of this type of doll, but since she is a bride and because I collect vintage wedding things, I had to bring her home. She only cost me a dollar. I would have felt bad if I hadn't bought her home...
Now, I love my NancyAnn Storybook Groom, Bride and Bridesmaid.
This little composition guy was my Auntie's doll when she was little in the early 40's. I love his little fragile sweater. I know... he needs pants! :o)
Another doll I took, I mean, was given to me, by my Mom is this sweet little bisque bye-lo style baby. I think he looks so happy in the buggy!
One more bisque baby, hanging out in a Wyandotte baby buggy which also belonged to my Aunt. The Hermann mohair bear makes a great snuggly pal for the baby, don't you think?
Oh, and last but not least, I love, love, love, my baby doll heads! I'm sure someone will think it's a little strange to have doll heads on a shelf, but I think they have the cutest faces ever!
Thanks for stopping by. This challenge was super fun! I'm now off to mingle, have fun, and check out all the other dollies that have come to the party too!

Prepare To Drool!

A month or so ago I posted here about a couple pillows I made for a friend of mine. I wanted to share the pictures Cheryl sent me of her dining room. Isn't it fabulous!?
On the chair sits one of the pillows I made...
Her home is so inviting, cheerful, romantic, and fun. I love everything about it.
Her white, pink and jadeite green color scheme is so pretty in here!
Check out her fantastic vintage wedding cake topper collection.
She has the neatest stuff, and has the gift to put it all together so beautifully!
Each time a see a different area of her home, I drool. I'm sure you can imagine.
This is only the dining room! You should see her living room, kitchen, bedroom, front and back porch, bathroom, I can go on and on.....

And The Winner Is...

Thanks so much everyone for your nice comments on my 60th post celebration giveaway!
58 names went into the jar and only one came out...
and the winner is... Susan - penless thoughts!
Congratulations!!!

Show & Tell Sunday - Vintage Millinery

Thanks to Cerri from Little Pink Studio for hosting todays Show and Tell Sunday!

Our challenge this week was to show & tell about our vintage millinery hats, flowers, and how we store them.
***********************************

I love this cream rose with its hint of peachy pink. At one time, it was pinned on an old hat. I now have it attached to the ruched waist of a 50's chiffon prom gown. The tiny velvet posies are so sweet!
The flowers I've removed from old hats are now displayed in an apothecary jar.
Velvet leaves and flowers that have one or two velvet petals in them are my most favorite.

I picked up this faux fur hat because of the beautiful rhinestone pin. I have it displayed on a very old German paper mache' doll head hat stand. One of these days I'll find a better vintage hat for the stand...
I purchased this hat for $2 at an estate sale a couple years ago. Originally, I was going to take it apart but changed my mind once I put it with my favorite hat box. I'm glad I didn't take it apart... Here are a couple more that I love. Roses with some velvet petals... aah... pure beauty!
Oh, and since millinery refers to hats or headdresses, I thought I'd share a picture of my vintage crown. It can be considered a headdress, right?
Thanks for taking a peek at my tiny collection. I'm off to visit everyone and get my fix of vintage millinery for today...

To see a complete list of all Show and Tell Sunday participants, please go to the Little Pink Studio where Cerri is posting all the participating blogs.

Show & Tell Friday

Show and Tell
********************
Thanks to Kelli for hosting Show & Tell Friday.
It's so fun to visit all of you who participate each week. Please be sure to stop in to Kelli's House for more Show & Tell Friday.
Today, I thought I show you my vintage pink perfume bottle collection. I have been collecting old perfume bottles for a number of years. I mainly started this collection because I wanted something cute to display in our main bathroom.
You'll have to forgive me, since I haven't taken the time to dust... don't look to closely. :o)
Most of my collection is on the shelves which are right above the commode.
I love the old bulb style atomizers.
Besides collecting pink, I've found a few porcelain bottles to add to my collection - ya know, it's the roses I couldn't pass up...
The next few close-up pictures are probably my most favorite.
This bottle is a Fenton rose overlay. I love the shape!
This little sweetie is old Czechoslovakian glass.
and I love these two because of the roses on top!
Thanks for stopping by for a visit today. Enjoy your weekend!

Cocoa Chenille

Uh huh, uh huh, we like it, uh huh, uh huh!
I'm am beyond thrilled with my find this week! You might not know, but I have an enormous vintage chenille bedspread collection, I mean obsession...
The other day while I was clicking around on my local Craigslist for chenille (which never really produces anything worth while for me, but I search anyways) I found this Hofmann bedspread. This is a pretty rare color, perfect for some projects I want to do. Best part was the price!
Craigslist is in many cities - you might want to check it out.
