Button Challenge

I just happened upon the "button challenge" that Analise is hosting today. Since I have a love for vintage buttons I thought it would be fun to join in and show a few of my favorites.
Rhinestone buttons are probably the ones I love best. You can never have enough sparkle!

Glass buttons are a close second - cuz they sparkle too.
Mother of pearl, abalone or shell buttons are another favorite of mine - love the lustre.
Anything pink....
or jadeite green are some I always search for.
Gotta love all white too!
I guess it's fitting that I love to collect buttons. According to my mom, "pretty buttons" were the first words I spoke as a child.

  18. Good morning, Karoline. Thanks for your kind comments--I'm really trying to get the hang of all of this. I believe it is a Hardanger heart. For a number of years, I was a member of an embroidery guild and it was a gift from one of the members. I added the little mother of pearl initial pin and it normally hangs from the beak of a sewing bird. I "rescued" the one-winged bird from a flea market years ago. I have the bird clamped onto a desk cubby shelf and it's turned so you can't even tell the bird is missing a wing.
