Airing Laundry

My hubby is the bestest guy ever! Saturday, he completed another "to do" off my list, and let me tell ya, I couldn't be happier!
I've been wanting a clothesline my whole married life and we're talking 19 years, people. Well, OK, maybe not for all 19 years... but a long time nonetheless.
Just so you know, I'm not a fan of doing laundry, actually, I think it is my least favorite chore of all. But, since I got me a new clothesline, I'm loving the chore! I can't get enough. I've been pretty much washing anything I can get my hands on, just so I can hang it out to dry.
Hubby thinks I'm weird because everytime I look over at the clothesline I smile and get all giddy. Really though, it is so lovely! We'll see how long the honeymoon phase lasts. Until then, I'm off to do another load!

  1. Oh, I can totally relate. When I was a child, my mom always hung the clothes on the line...and I miss those days. I have always wanted a clothes line too but just don't have the space. Hang a load for me, please.

  2. I love the photos of your laundry line!! I grew up living next to my wonderful grandmother's house and she always had clothes drying on a very long clothes line that ran from her cellar door to a big tree in the back yard. Thanks for bringing back a very fond memory.

  4. I'm a fellow clothesline lover. There si something very satisfying seeing a long line of clothes flapping in the breeze, all their colors marching down the line, love it! Now if only I can get a new clothes line-- mine is a disaster.

  8. Have fun, but count me out. I had my fill of laundry on the clothe line when I eas a kid, it's all we had, we had a big family, Iand I frequently got the job of hanging out the vlothes or gathering them in. Nothing like stiff denim jeans, line dried.

  9. I would be doing the same thing!! Infact, I did a quick clothesline the other day with some twine and it worked perfectly. So....I know your giddiness. Infact, I'd be sitting there and admiring it with that root beer float in hand....simple joys, huh?

  10. Isn't it funny what things bring us pleasure, sugar?! Yesssssss, line drying makes my heart sing also. I love the smell of the sheets and clothing drying in the sun and the "bleaching" the sun does for stains. Just wonderful to me!
