Our New Years Eve Tradition

We always used to ring in New Years with friends...
but ever since 2002, the year we had Sydney, we've kind of started having our own New Years celebration as a family. It's really nice just staying home together.
My hubby chose the menu which usually consists of his favorite hors d'oeuvres - and some of the girls favorites too... here's what I made:
caprese salsa on toasted baguettes
guacamole
pico de gallo
coconut shrimp with nam jeem (hot & sweet dipping sauce)
shrimp ceviche on tostada chips
and Thai beef skewers with peanut satay sauce
...that we rolled up in butter lettuce.
After we put the girls to bed, hubby and I toasted in the New Year with our favorite champagne, and these yummy almond truffles.
We all agree it beats going out -
and now, we have some great leftovers for New Years Day - gotta have snacks while watching football. ;o)

Yummy! Good that I just finished breakfast, your snacks look mouthwatering. We celebrate New Years Eve always with friends, except for this year, as I have been ill and wanted to stay at home with just our little family. Just like you! I have to say it was great!

Have a happy and healthy 2009, thanks for your beautiful posts and blog friendship in 2008! Let's make 2009 even a better year!

Thank you for stopping by! I love your vintage rhinestone clocks. I have been wanting one for a long time. It is on my long list of wants! LOL I must say that it is neat that we have two four year old girls! They are wonderful. Jane is only 13 months younger so I am having so much fun (usually)watching them play and fight and getting in there with them too.

Thank you for your compliments. I bought that wreath many years ago and that half doll is one of the pin cushions I have made. I, to this day, wish that I didn't sell it because that girl is so darn cute!

Happy New Year! I tell you, you did it right. Family is what it is all about and your food looked delicious. I don't really like seafood but those crusted shrimp looked yummy! I would have tried one.

I look future to reading and viewing more of your post!

hugs, Ellen
