Yay! It's "Show and Tell Friday!" I hope you've all had a fantastic week!
Today, I'd like to share the Valentine I received from my Daddy this year. It was made in Germany, and I'm guessing it is from around the 20's. The vibrant colors are so spectacular! Many times these old valentines become so faded - particularly the honeycombs. Everything about this valentine is wonderful. I just love it!
For as long as I can remember, I have always been my Daddy's Valentine. Every year without fail, he has given me a special box of chocolate from our favorite local confectionery. Well.... last year the shop closed - which was such a bummer! And, since not just any box of chocolate will do.... he decided to start a new tradition by giving me an old valentine to add to my collection. This is such a special valentine keepsake which I will cherish forever. I love my Daddy - he's the best!

You have a very special father. I miss my father back in our country.
I love that you and your Daddy are close. My Dad really tried after I married to continue giving me a box of candy. It seemed I was always on a diet. He gives Valentine's to my kids now! Jennifer

Hi Karoline, what a gorgeous Valentine and a treasure for sure! I think I'd leave it out year round.
I got your box today--wow! I was expecting an envelope! LOL! I hope I can wait til Valentine's day to open it, but I can't promise! This was the first day due to snow that I was able to get to the PO since Mon or Tues, so it may have arrived earlier. Happy Valentine's Day!
Cathy :)
Thanks for sharing your valentine with us. Your dad rocks in my book. Anyone who would give a vintage valentine is awesome! How funny that we bought the same fabric. You do need to show more of your finds. I love seeing what everyone else finds.
