Lunch Notes

What do I do every night before I go to bed? Create a lunch note!
Back in September when Sydney started first grade, it was an adjustment for her (and me) to be away from home all day. Afterall, it's the first year in her life that we aren't sharing lunch time together, and I miss her! To let her know I'm thinking about her, I include a note in her lunch. Lately I've been writing a silly joke that somewhat corresponds with a drawing. She looks forward to this each day, and tells me the kids at her lunch table do too.
I was surprised how significant these little lunch note have become to her.

How sweet Karoline!

Do you keep them? It would be fun to have a book of notes especially in let's say 20 years. I cannot throw anything away...

Nice to hear from you again, have a lovely day!

Oh my, how sweet is that - thx. for sharing it.
I love to stick little surprises in my 17-yr-old's lunch bag (or I just write a little something on the outside) but I don't do it real often..maybe today would be a good day...as a matter of fact, I'm running out of days... ;-(

That is so sweet! I do the same for my girls from time to time . Not a drawing though that would be scary lol.

Karoline this is so sweet. It brought back a wonderful memory today that I had forgotten. When my mom would pack us (her six children) our lunches for the day, in on sandwich she would put a note on a tiny piece of paper and whoever got the little note that day felt so special. I loved that about my mom. Think of the wonderful memories you are creating for your little girl.

I used to put a sticker in their lunchbox with a note. Then they would wear the sticker. I kept some of the notes and stickers. Little mom things. :-)

so sweet! I used to do that for my daughter too. I even did that for my husband when we were first married.
