I thought I share a few of my recent projects, which are now completed.
First up, Karla's (Karla's Cottage) aunt Caroline is turning 100 years old in June. Karla wants to take 100 handmade cards to Caroline's birthday celebration and asked fellow bloggers to help. I thought it would be fun to create a card for Caroline too. I am by no means a creative card maker. This is what I came up with. I used an old hankie, vintage sheet music, some buttons, old lace, vintage seam binding, and a pretty rose die cut. I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out.Sydney also wanted to make a card for Caroline. For the outside of her card, she glued flowers, lace, buttons, and a vintage earring over some wallpaper. This is what she wrote on the inside... Another project was this tote I made and traded for the cutest vintage bunny pull toy ever! 3rd project to check off my list was this all white vintage chenille patchwork quilt. It's a Mother's Day gift for a lady in California. Finally, this is what I've been working on yesterday and today. My Mom let me have her suitcase set which was her college graduation gift. I love vintage suitcases! I decided to paint hers white.
I have all sorts of vintage tablecloth scraps, so I patchworked a bunch together.
I then used Mod Podge and applied the panel to the side of the suitcase. Next I trimmed all around the edges with an exacto knife and painted another layer of Mod Podge over the entire panel.
Here it is all done!
The girls want to use it when we go to Disneyland in June. I'm thinking it will just look so cute on display in the couch room...

What a cute card! I would never had guessed you don't make very many. Love it! That is so cute what you did with your mom's suit case! I would have never thought about painting it! Too CUTE! Happy Monday!
Love the card for Great Aunt Caroline. I made one too - I will have to post a pic of it. Love Sydney's card.

Loved everything in this post. Especially the all white chenille quilt and the suitcase. I never would have thought to mod podge fabric to something. Great idea. I just did a neat folding screen today with a patchwork of vintage wallpaper I think you might like which I'm taking to Farm Chicks.

Love, love, love the suitcase! Adorable idea. When I use Mod Podge, it dries with a very rough surface. Do you have the same result? Thanks for sharing your ideas! BTW, I think your suitcase should stay home and far away from Disneyland!
