I Have A Confession...

I don't make our bed everyday....
Whew! Now, since that's off my chest, I feel so much better. hehe
I've really never been good about making my bed, just ask my mom! I've had times when I have actually made my bed everyday for a week - but oh, those times were short lived...
I do however make our bed anytime company is expected.
Sydney wondered who was coming over today. hehe
The reason our bed is made today is because I wanted to show you the letters I hung up yesterday. Nothing fancy... I just covered the letters with old sheet music, and I thought they turned out pretty cute. I've had the letters since before Christmas and figured I'd finally better do something with them...

Since our room is presentable today, here's a peek around... I found this antique armoire at a moving sale a few years ago. Thankfully I had some birthday money to spend at the time. It's my absolute favorite! Our room is pretty small, I have it packed to the max with furniture! It does look nice when the bed is made. Maybe I'll try to make it again tomorrow... it's a good thought anyways.

Oh, and one last thing. I've been on the lookout for an old silverplated loving cup trophy for a long long time. Most of the time the old trophies are way out of my price range. A couple weeks ago, I happened to find this old loving cup at a local estate sale. It has the most perfectly tarnished and silverplate loss look I wanted. I have such a hard time cutting the roses in my garden, I rarely ever do. I'm happy that I cut some tonight though. I think they look so pretty in the loving cup!!

He, he, he, I especially like that your daughter can see whether you have visitors or not...My kids could too, if they paid attention. I have cushions that should be tied to the back of the bed as well as curtain embrasses. Those aren't in full position on a simple day, only when I expect somebody too! I think the letters are so lovely and your bedroom is gorgeous. Have a nice day!

You are so funny! I'm so glad you got that confession out! ha! Actually, I almost envy you because I just can't stand it when my bed isn't made! If I get up before my DH and I go back into the room it bugs me so much that it is not made even if he is still in it! Your room is absolutely gorgeous! I love your wall treatment and your new good night letters! Everything looks pretty! I also LOVE, LOVE, LOVE yourarmoire!

Hugs, Sharon

Good find on the loving cup! I've been on the search too, you are right, they tend to be pricey.

You must have gotten your love of purple from your mom, your room looks lovely. I've never bee the best bed maker either. When I was young my Grandma was comming for a visit and she always inspected our rooms. I was in a panic because we had very short notice of the visit, so as their car pulled up to our house I quickly threw all the bedding out the bedroom window! except the bedspread. I layed it neatly over the bed as she walked in the room. She told me how nice everything looked as I stood there grinning. As soon as she left my room on her way t my sisters I ran outside and stuffed the bedding back thru the window in case she walked around outside to see the garden. I may not make my bed every day but I at least pull the bedding up and smooth it out, just in case. I learned my lesson!

That's funny! Despite my best efforts to have the kids pick up regularly they STILL ask me who's coming over when I tell them it's time to pick up. I don't know why they can't just keep it looking nice for me! ;o)

BTW, I like the letters...they turned out cute.

Love your blog. I can tell that you have put a lot of work into decorating your bedroom.

I LOVE the pink rose in the silver loving cup!!!

A tip about those roses. You will have more roses every year, if you cut some of them. A former neighbor who was an avid gardner shared this secret with me. She was alway cutting a few of her roses here and there all during their blooming season. She said the next year she would get more blooms than the year before.
