Here are some treasures that have been accumulating on our dining room table for the last month or so. I've found a few fun things while thrifting and estate sale shopping recently so I thought I'd let you see what I bought before I put it away...
Last Friday, I saw an ad on Craigslist advertising an estate sale starting at 4 p.m. that evening. Since it was an unusual time, I thought I go check it out and boy, I'm so glad I did. The sale was run by an agency, but their prices were amazingly inexpensive. I love that! I picked up this pretty Austrian tea set. Can't wait to use it and have a tea party with the girls! I bought the large feather down pillow for the old barkcloth fabric cover.
Here's a random list of the other stuff in the pictures all from thrift stores and estate sales: valentines from the 60's, 2 postcards dated 1910, a couple dolls (one is a NancyAnn Little Red Riding Hood), vintage pearl necklace, old clip on earrings, pink childs hangers, old pink doll cradle, buttons, misc. fabrics, bridal hat w/ veil, vintage jewelry box, vintage ducks and a chick, childs A&W rootbeer mug...
vintage barkcloth sewing bag, old powder jar with enameled rose, cute candy tin with roses, antique cobbler shoe form and stand, Iowa State souvenir figurine, ladies gloves, vintage hanky, rhinestone pin, and a very old lamp with shade.
I still need to do some research on the lamp. It really is the coolest thing ever! The shade is so unbelievably fragile. I absolutely love the pleats and velvet ribbon edge. The whole thing is so charming, I love how it's aging...

My dining room table is the place where all my smaller finds end up. That's usually where I arrange and take pictures of the stuff for my blog. Hey, is that a piece of Glen Court barkcloth I see under the doll bed? Love it!
Have a great weekend?
Lisa
